Lance Corporal Oliver Holt served in the 3rd Australian Field Ambulance in Egypt, Gallipoli, France and Belgium and returned to Australia in Oct. 1919. He was wounded twice and spent much time on an education scheme for his unit. Enlisted as Private, Sergeant on NR. Unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A23 Suffolk on 28 July 1915

All’s fair in love and war ...

Don’t know why, but I love this image ... Life goes on despite the weary body language of both the Aussie soldier and the European woman. Both seem sick and tired of their situations; but the eye contact still seems to be intense in the middle of all that mayhem. See pic.
