He served in the 13th Battalion, 4th Brigade of the A.I.F. at Gallipoli 26 Apr.-18 Dec. 1915 and was evacuated to Sandy Bay in Egypt 3 Jan. 1916. He was killed in action, 29 Aug. 1916
