Private Stretcher bearer A. P. Morris of Armadale, Victoria enlisted 17 Aug. 1914 and served as Medical Sergeant in the 1st and 12th Light Horse Regiments at Gallipoli and in Egypt, Sinai and Palestine. Embarked on board Transport A27 Southern. He was promoted to Sergeant 15 Mar. 1916 and discharged 12 July 1917

Taken by official war photographer Frank Hurley, this image and its title are equally captivating  because it's such an ordinary photo of a young man looking after his animals in such  extraordinary circumstances. I can just imagine him saying something like 'Must be almost time to feed the donks' - an unremarkable job if he was at home, perhaps he was a farmer. Something else again at War in the Middle East.
