Enlist as Private, 2nd Lieutenant on Nom Roll, He embarked from Brisbane, Queensland, on Transport A15 Star of England, 24 Sept. 1914 and served in Egypt. In Jan. 1917 he was attached to Australian Flying Corps and attended the No. 3 school of military aeronautics in Abbassia. He was invalided to Australia on the Tofua 23 Jan. 1918. After the war he engaged in commercial aviation in Australia.
