Personal information:

Corporal G. R. Faulkner, a wholesale fruiterer of Bundaberg, Queensland, enlisted at the age of 31 in Brisbane, Sept. 1915 and served with the Light Horse 15th Field Ambulance, B Section 5th Division, in France from June 1916 to May 1917. He wounded in action May 1917, losing his right arm and returned to Australia on the Ulysses Sept. 1917

Taken by official war photographer Frank Hurley, this image and its title are equally captivating  because it's such an ordinary photo of a young man looking after his animals in such  extraordinary circumstances. I can just imagine him saying something like 'Must be almost time to feed the donks' - an unremarkable job if he was at home, perhaps he was a farmer. Something else again at War in the Middle East.
